Art and design, to me, are a combination of curiosity and trust.
Curiosity is the questioning / noticing and listening to the feeling or insight that this something should exist / could be better.
In corporate design terms this comes from many places :: user insight / perception, company values / direction, cultural or social trends, etc. As an artist this comes from one place. Your gut.
Trust is the follow through. Believing in your theory or concept enough to tell its story and bring your point of view to life in physical space.
Solutions are momentary in design and non-existent in art. We are left usually with an exploration. Or, at best, a personal solve that lives for a moment in time. We will continue to inquire and ask questions. And hopefully listen. So we can do this all over again sooner than we expect.
